Built for the trades,
by people who get it
InvoiceAdept started with a simple observation: the tools available for UK tradespeople were either too complicated for someone who spends their day on the tools, or too simple to handle the realities of running a trades business. We set out to fix that.
The problem we set out to solve
Talk to any self-employed plumber, electrician, or builder and you will hear the same frustrations: invoices going unpaid for weeks, time wasted chasing customers, and a growing dread of tax season because records are scattered across notebooks, phone photos, and a spreadsheet that was last opened in October.
Generic accounting software was designed for office workers — not for someone whose hands are dirty and whose phone screen cracked last month. The workflow assumes you are sitting at a desk with a broadband connection and a quiet hour to spare.
We built InvoiceAdept for the other reality: send the invoice on the doorstep, get paid by card before you drive away, and let the software worry about the records.
Our mission
To give every UK tradesperson the financial tools that were previously only accessible to larger businesses — so they can spend more time doing the work they are good at, and less time doing paperwork.
What we stand for
Speed over ceremony
A tradesperson on a job site should be able to send a professional invoice in under 30 seconds. We obsess over removing every unnecessary tap, field, and click.
Trust through transparency
No hidden fees. No surprise tier changes. No dark patterns. We publish our pricing, our policies, and our roadmap openly so you always know where you stand.
Built with the people who use it
We talk to real tradespeople every week — plumbers, electricians, roofers, joiners. Every feature we ship solves a problem we heard from someone on the tools.
Compliance without complexity
HMRC's Making Tax Digital requirements should not require an accountant to navigate. We make CIS, MTD, and VAT records straightforward for everyone.
Who we are
InvoiceAdept is built by a small, focused team based in the United Kingdom. We are software engineers, product designers, and former small business owners who have lived the problem first-hand.
We are not backed by venture capital. We are not trying to become a bank. We are building a focused tool that does one thing exceptionally well: helps UK tradespeople get paid, stay organised, and stay compliant.
Our content, guides, and editorial output are produced by practitioners with direct experience in UK tax, invoicing, and the construction and trades sectors. Read our editorial policy for more.
